An intermediate level four-mallet vibraphone solo that is a great introduction to pedaling techniques, mallet dampening, and melody vs. harmony. Written primarily around the key of A minor, many interesting harmonies are created through the use of seventh chords and suspensions. Although it can be played without a motor, it is intended to be played with a very slow motor speed to add the slightest touch of vibrato and depth. A very listenable, audience-friendly selection that makes a great change-of-pace to any program. Suitable for advanced high school or college level students.
