Ritual No.1
$16.00
This work is written for any keyboard percussion instrument, two toms, maracas, two suspended cymbals, tambourine, triangle, and claves. The subtitle "TWILIGHT DANCE" is an apt description of this enjoyable work. While this piece is not demanding technically, it will provide a musical challenge to young players.
This work can serve as a vehicle for teaching balance, dynamics, rhythmic precision and phrasing. It is filled with rhythmic energy and has a sonorous quality that has audience appeal. Since the parts are not difficult all levels of percussion ensembles could effectively perform the work. An audience will find it difficult, if not impossible, to remain still throughout the performance of this mysterious primitive dance ritual.
NYSSMA 410.4 Selection
